Wind in the moonlit valley blew gently. The moonlights rays shone down on a near by river, making the shimmering waters turn near silver. There was a figure standing near the river, its head bowed, as if it was looking at its reflection. However, the figure had a tail and two ears, but stood up normal human size. A slight humming sound drifted across the river. The sound of a woman.
"I wanted ou to know....
I love dthe wa ou laughed....
I wanna hold ou high, and steal awa your laugh..." she muttered in tune.
Some where from behind came another figure, accept all white.
"I keep your photograph and
I know it serves me well..." the other figure, also a woman muttered back in same tone.
"I wanna hold you high and steal awa our pain...." the bother muttered at the same time. The wind blew harder, and the darker woman loooked up, her long black hair flowed behind her, her cat ear flicked back, looking as if it was apart of her hair. Looking back down, and closed her eyes.
"You gone away, you don't feel me here anymore...." she whispered again, and turned around, a tear left her eye when she saw that the white woman was gone.
"Cause I'm broken...."
Chapter One
These folded Black Wings
"Ichigo!" yelled a voice and he stopped. Reconizing the voice quickly.
"yeah?" he asked turned around to see Rukia standing there. The girl blinked.
"We have a.... small problem.... and its not a hollow." Rukia said quickly. Ichigo gave a short sigh, showing no complete intrest at all.
"Is it a spirit?" he asked in a flat tone.
"This time I don't know." Rukia added, and looked off to the side. Ichigo fallowed her gaze to the tree on the far side of the school yard. There was another girl reading a book. She had long black hair and dark amber eyes. She didn't seemed interested in anything.
"She has cat ears and a tail...." Rukia murmered, and Ichigo narrowed his eyes. She was right, the girl did, but the other high school student didn't seem to notice. Before Ichigo could reply, the bell rang and Rukia walked off.
"Come on Ichigo, she doesn't seem like anything evil, just keep an eye on her and get to class." she called over her shoulder. Ichigo nodded and looked back at the tree, and the girl was gone. he blinked and looked around as everyone cleared out to get to class on time. He just shrugged and walked on, after Rukia.
"HI! whats your name?" Keigo asked, looking at the new student, a girl with black hair and dark amber eyes, the one that had been by the tree. She blinked at his hyper appearence.
"Er.... Bikou Akkishikon...." she replied.
"My name's Asano Keigo, nice to meet you! If you need any help causeing trouble, I'm the guy you look for!" Keigo laughed, shaking her hand.
"Uh.... I-I'll keep that in mind." Akkishikon said smiling. Keigo smiled back and walked quickly to a group of student, three girls and two guys.
"Hey guys! You should meet the new student!" Keigo said cheerfully, pointing at Akkishikon. A girl witg long orange hair blinked, and Rukia narrowed her eyes.
"you probably scared her half to death popping up like that." she said. Keigo folded his arms.
"Oh really now? well just go over there then!" Keigo said anyways. Chad looked over across the room, noticing that Akkishikon had cat ears and a tail. But he didn't say anything. Orihime walked over to Akkishikon. She was still reading her book she had eariler. She held a pencile and wrote down something in it. Though she quickly noticed Orihime without looking up.
"Hello." Akkishikon said with out looking up from her work. Orihime looked down.
"Hi." she said in a kind voice she always used when greeting someone. Akkishikon finished off her work by drawing a circle around something before she closed the book. The book was a dark red maroon color with green vine engraving the spine of the book. The title said "Broken". Akkishikon looked up, with a polite smile.
"Hello, sorry I was working on something in my book. My name is Bikou Akkishikon. Whats your name?" Akki asked. Orihime smiled.
"My names Inoue Orihime.... nice to meet you." Orihime said happily. Akkishikon smiled again. Orihime had already notied her cat ear and tail when she was walking over, but didn't say anything. Instead she looked down at the dark red book.
"What were you working on?" Orihime asked in a happy voice. But if Akki didn't want to tell her, she'd understand.
"Its a book I'm writing." Akkishikon said. Orihime still looked at the book.
"May I.... look in it?" she asked.
"Sure, I like it when people view my work. It gives me some purpose in my life and I would know I'm not ignored." Akki said. Orihime tilted her head and picked up the book. She noticed there was a faint picture of a girl with angel wings faded into the dark cover... she seemed to be holding something but it was too faded to make out what it was. Orihime opened the book and looked in. She only wanted to read the first page, but when she turned to it, there was a picture of a cliff, and further off an ocean with a moon over hanging it. Drawn by hand in ink.
"Wow! You're a good artist." Orihime said. Akkishikon smiled.
"I do what I can. The first picture is still incomplete.... I just do not know whats missing." Akki said. Orihime was a bit confused. The picture looked whole, nothing missing. The grass, waves and light the belonged to the drawing was flawless. Orihime only pushed that thought to the back of her head, and turne dto the next page, the first chapter, the first page. She red the title to the chapter, "Hollow inside". The simple name of "Hallow" only reminded her of the countless ones that keep apearing in the real world. Orihime shivered slightly, and Akki saw it.
"Something wrong?" Akki asked.
"Oh, no no, nothings wrong, just a bit cold." Orihime lied, but she sounded truthful. Akki smiled, and set her gaze to the far window.
'Hollow Inside....
Dreams that lay broken and untouched never seem to be picked up and put togeather. Like the peices of a puzzle. But no one can see the dreams that lie in wait. In wait of something strong.... something like a friend.... or a sister. The days passed on like it always does. When I thought my life couldn't get any better, they shattered. My one true enemy.... and the blood.... only writen by a stick. My parents dead, and i stumbled through the forest unwatched, and untouched. Not scratches, not a bruise. Well.... my mind was damaged. Damaged beyond repair. I knew one thing.... the world is full of death and nothing could stop it. I knew I still had a family, somewhere.... out there... but I didn't want to find them, I didn't want my heart to be torn in two. The spitting image of my father, the spitting image of my mother, I stumbled on. Tripping and falling over rocks and roots. The moon was high, and the road lay darkened b my fears of my enemy... jumping out, clawing me to peices... with their claws sharper than any blade the world could make. But I still stumbled on, no matter how weak I was, still young, still fragile. That one night lasted like four months. But I made it to the river, where my dreams could lay broken. I fell to my knees, putting my dirty hands into the cool water, washing them off, washing my face off, and sipped the water. I didn't know how tired I was, till i felt the leaves under me, and fell into an unsteady sleep.
Then next morning, I woke with an urge to do something. The dreded night that left me still and cold.... the blood.... I looked up and saw a bird chirping in a near by branch. How peacful it was, but someday it wouldn't sing its song of joy, and its wings would be clipped, it wouldn't be able to fly, it wouldn't be able to sing, it would just die like everything else. I got up and looked into the water, seeing my reflection, the scared little girl I was. I wondered, would today be my last breath in the world that gave me a home? Would my enemy just come along and slaughter me too? I wondered that, I wondered if they got my sisters. I hoped they were ok, somewhere safe. I walked down a different path, coming to a small town. This town wasn't like most. It was dark and quiet. I could feel something watching me, but unable to hear it.... see it... scent it.... I walked on. Feeling its waitless steps increase behind me, I grabed a broken peice of glass and turned. I knew it was there, but what? That question didn't last for long for he could feel its steps increasing towards me. AT the last moment, I shoved the glass forwards, and there it was... a boy, older.... stronger... bigger than me. He had a sword in his left hand, but it dropped, falling to the ground with a clank. Blood dripped down my arms, so warm, and the boy, my enemy, fell. He was dead, like everything else in this dieing world...'
Orihime blinked. What disciption in the one page she just read. First person yes, but from a wondering girls point of view.
"You are amazing at writing stories!" Orihime gasped. Akki averted her dark amber gaze from the window and looked at her.
"But I only read one page." Orihime muttered. She handed the dark red book to Akkishikon.
"Thats ok Orihime. When ever you want to read more, just tell me. I'm already on chapter five, yet that chapter is nameless." Akki muttered. Orihime only gave a short laugh.
"You'll figure one out! With a mind like yours, you'll be able to find a name in no time." orihime reasured her. Akki smiled, and opened the book up again, and she wrote down the name. Orihime saw the name of the fifth chapter. It said "These scars".
"Orihime?" came another voice, and she turned, looking at Ishida.
"Yeah?" Orihime asked, smiling. He only gave a short smile and looked at Akkishikon. She was now drawing out a picture below the name. He gave a short sigh.
"Class will be starting soon, lets go sit down." he suggested.
"Ok! By Akki!" Orihime said and walked towards her own seat. Akki smiled and raised three fingers with a short wave. Of course, Ichigo was watching. Even though most couldn't see, her nails were longer than most. He narrowed his eyes, thinking if Rukia might of been wrong. Akki looked over, and noticed the Ichigo was looking at her. She returned his gaze and then looked back at her book, and continued to write.
Later that day, school was over. Ichigo nodded his goodbyes to his friends when he walke dout of the room. Of course, he kept up to his promise to keep an ee on Akkishikon. However, she kept on disappearing from sight. It didn't take long for him to spot her walking down the hall wa, holding her dark red book, open and she was writing in it. She was heading straight for a wall, and when Ichigo went to tell her she was going to run into it, did she veer sharple to the right without notice, but she knew he was there. When she walked outside, she closed the book, and looked up.
"Hey! Akki! Akkishikon!" came a voice. There frther down was a small boy. His hair was dark gray with lighter gray highlights in it. Short and spiky, and he had dark amber eyes too! He was waving at Akki, with a big smile on his face.
"Hey Hisame!" Akk said, smiling and she ran down the steps towards him.
"You have no idea what I found!" Hisame said in a cheerful voice. Ichigo noticed he too had cat ears and a tail, but they were gray with light gray stripes on them like a tabby. His nails weren't as long as Akki's, but still sharp. His wide grin showed two sharp teeth.
"What?" Akki asked.
"I was big and tried to eat something. I was watching in a tree. It had a weird body and had a white mask. But is scented of dog so I stayed in the tree." Hisame said. Akki narrowed her eyes.
"You would of gotten killed! This world is already trouble enough with wondering lost souls." Akki told him. Hisame scuffed up the dust.
"But someone already killed it." he said.
"That sounded better. AT least you weren't hurt." Akki sighed.
"Hey! I can out run any dog! Even if it was big and had a weird face!" Hisame retorted. Ichigo was overhearing all of this.
'they can see Hollows too?' he thought. Akki flicked her ear and looked over her shoulder. But Ichigo was gone so she shrugge dit off.
"Come now. I got some work to do and well you need to take a bath." Akki said.
"Noes! I don't like water! Its cold and wet." Hisame complain, but fallowed her anyways. Akki only gave a light laugh of amusment.
"Well you drink water don't you?" she asked.
"yeah, whats your point?" Hisame asked.
"Well, you don't hate it." Akki laughed, patting him on the head.
"Hey! I'll run home! I wanna do something before you walk in." Hisame said and dashed off. Akki wasn't surprised on how fast he could run. No matter how small he was.
Akki smiled and began to hum. Though this time, time slowed down except for the liitle boy who had ran off. She turned around. Ichigo was still able to move, maybe because he was a shinigami. She glared at him.
"Whats with you?!" she demanded, her voise was a mere hiss.
"You've been watching me, and fallowing me around everywhere I've gone!" she hiised angrily. Ichigo blinked and looked around. the world was blue because time was slown down. Ichigo shook his head. Akki on grinned, showing one her pointy teeth.
"I'm surprised you can still move in this world. Only for that I praise you. Now leave me alone, and let me live in peace!" she snapped quickly as her good mood changed to bad as quickly as that. Now Ichigo was confused.
"Wha-"
"My question first! Why can you still move when i just stopped time?" she asked, narrowing her dark amber eyes. Her grin faded away to a frown as she awaited her answer.
"I'm a Shinigami.... Death God." he replied steadily. Akki didn't move, kept her positsion. Ichigo wondered if she was even breathing at all after a while.
"Who are you and what are you?" He asked. Akki flicked her ears.
"You can see my cat like features now, huh? no need to answer that pathdic question. If you are wondering if I am a threat well I'm not! I only came to live her like everyone else. I have no desire to kill." she growled. Though only part of that was true. She could never forget her blood stained hands the night of the battle a few years ago. She locked that up inside.
She held Ichigo's gaze, not blinking till her pupil went into a slit.
"Do you not believe me" she hissed. then everything began to move before Ichigo could reply. One of her black ears flicked lower just as the little alarm the charm Ichigo was holding went off. She slapped her hands to her ears from the noise and she ran away.
"Wait!" but there was nothing he could do. Akki was already gone. But he noticed she was headng in the direction of the Hollow that just came up. Quickly, he went back to his Shinigami form and ran after her, the same direction.
Akki jumped onto the broken pole the Hollow had pushed over and scanned the area. Nobody at the moment. She jumped just as a rather large paw went under her. She looked back seeing the Hollow. This one had the scent of a dog as well. She turned, landing on her feet perfectly. She slipped her shoes off, running and jumping were better that way. She lowered her body till her hand was on the ground. Then there was a black cloud that formed over her, and she pounced out, aiming straight at the Hollow. Her clothing had changed from the school uniform she was wearing to black jeans, a black jacket and a black tanktop laced in red. Around her neck was a collar that was black with a skull in the middle of it. Her arms, as far as the finger tips were in bandages, accept for her right hand where the bandages didn't go over her fingers, only thumb. On top of her right hand was a black star. Her feet too were bandaged. She pulled back her arm and went past the Hollow. When she landed, blood poured out from just the small wound. By now Ichigo appeared.
"Stay back if you want to keep your eyes intact!" she hissed at him angrily, and then jumped again. Ichigo blinked.
She aimed at the other shoulder, pulling back both hands and then used one to stop where she was, perched on the Hollows shoulder and she swiped at the head, and flipped back. The hollow fell back, and faded away, showing that it was dead. She looked ather hands and gave a short sigh.
"Not strong enough.... poorly based creatures." she muttered, narrowed her dark amber eyes, and clenching her fist that hand blood all over it. She turned around and walked past Ichigo.
"Oh, and for that question eariler.... I don't know what I am." she replied, still walking and disappeared.
"I wanted ou to know....
I love dthe wa ou laughed....
I wanna hold ou high, and steal awa your laugh..." she muttered in tune.
